A skiffly hoagie
I love a good deli sandwich. I’m particuarly fond of Wawa hoagies, and I’m really tickled that they have these mini sandwiches with 4 pts (if you skip the cheese and fatty condiments) that give me my hoagie fix for a fraction of the calories.
But I also like making sandwiches at home. Here’s a yummy grinder (that is, toasted hoagie) that works wonders as a lunch, especially if you have a toaster oven at the office.
Take a hot dog roll, open it, and lay it flat on your workspace. On the roll, drizzle a bit of balsamic vinegar. Then, place 2 oz. of lowfat ham (most good deli cuts are fine), 1 oz. of reduced-fat cheese (Cabot is my favorite), and 3-4 slices of turkey pepperoni, the kind you get in a little pillow pack. Put this into a toaster oven until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted. Top with any veggies you like, fold it, and enjoy the yum.
Generally, depending on the kind of hot dog roll you have on hand (mine average 2 pts), this will be around 6.5 points. You can cut this by using a 1/2 oz. of the reduced-fat cheese instead of a full ounce, or by finding a 1-pt hot dog roll.

Mmmm. That sounds super good.
